The preservation of health is easier than the cure of the disease.

Therapeutic Massage

This massage is customized to your personal and unique needs.  It may include Swedish massage and deep tissue massage.  If you have chronic/acute pain and need deeper work, or if you're just wanting to relax, decompress, and unwind, or if you're wanting a little bit of all and somewhere in the middle, this is the massage for you!

What is the difference between a Swedish massage and a deep tissue massage?

Swedish Massage:

Is one of the most common types of massages you can get. It is performed to energize the body and improve overall health.   It involves manipulating the muscles and joints to relieve stress or pain. This is achieved by relaxing tight muscles and promoting blood circulation.

Getting a Swedish massage can also be beneficial to your heart. A massage therapist manipulates the body's soft tissues (muscles, tendons, ligaments and blood vessels) and uses strokes that flow toward the heart, improving blood circulation.

Swedish massage may help reduce symptoms of depression, stress, and anxiety.  Some of the symptoms that could be managed by massage therapy include back pains, headaches, muscle issues and other chronic pains.

Deep Tissue Massage:

Is a type of massage therapy that targets the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue in the body. It is designed to relieve chronic tension, pain, and stiffness in muscles, tendons, and ligaments. This modality is particularly effective for treating musculoskeletal issues, such as strains and sports injuries.

Key Techniques

  • Slow, deep strokes and pressure to target inner layers of muscles and connective tissues
  • Focus on specific areas of tension and pain
  • May involve sustained pressure, friction, and kneading movements
  • Can be used to break down adhesions (bands of painful, rigid tissue) and restore normal movement

Benefits

  • Relieves chronic muscle tension and pain
  • Improves range of motion and reduces stiffness
  • Enhances circulation and reduces inflammation
  • Promotes relaxation and reduces stress
  • Can be used to treat specific problem areas, such as stiff necks, low back tightness, and sore shoulders
